1. Who we are
Space-A Terminal is operated by Aaron Moses Smith, trading as “Space-A Terminal”. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this notice — we decide what data is collected and why. Contact: support@starnavigation.net.
2. What we collect and why
- Account data (email address, login credentials or Google account identifier, sign-in timestamps) — to create and secure your account and authenticate you. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
- Traveller profile data you choose to enter (Space-A category, rank or status label, party size, home terminal, saved trips and watchlists) — to personalise flight results and forecasts. Legal basis: performance of our contract; consent where the information is optional.
- Subscription and entitlement records (plan, status, renewal and cancellation dates, tip records, Stripe customer and transaction identifiers) — to give you the access you paid for and keep billing records. Legal basis: contract and legal obligation.
- Support messages you send us — to answer you. Legal basis: contract and legitimate interests.
- Usage and technical data (pages viewed, searches run, device and browser type, approximate location from IP address, IP address, error logs) — to keep the Service secure, prevent fraud and abuse, diagnose faults, and improve the product. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
We do not ask for and do not want government identification numbers, DoD ID numbers, orders, or leave documents. Please do not submit them. Card and bank details are collected and processed by Stripe, not by us — we never see your full payment details.
3. Who we share data with
- Service providers / subprocessors — application hosting, database and authentication infrastructure, error monitoring, and email delivery, acting on our instructions.
- Stripe, our payment provider, for the sale of subscriptions and tips, subscription management, payment processing, tax compliance, invoicing, and refunds. Stripe handles that data as its own controller for those purposes.
- Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where necessary.
- Authorities where we are required to disclose by law, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it with data brokers.
4. International transfers
We are based in the United States and our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where data is transferred from the UK or EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (with the UK Addendum where relevant) or an applicable adequacy decision.
5. How long we keep data
Account and profile data is kept while your account is active and for up to 12 months after you delete it or after prolonged inactivity, then deleted or anonymised. Security and error logs are kept up to 12 months. Billing and tax records are kept as long as tax law requires (typically 7 years). Support messages are kept up to 24 months.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to processing, receive a portable copy, withdraw consent, and — for UK/EEA residents — complain to your supervisory authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office). California residents may request disclosure or deletion and are never subject to discrimination for exercising these rights.
Email support@starnavigation.net to exercise any right. We respond within one month.
7. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), encryption at rest, row-level access controls on our database so users can only read their own records, least-privilege access for administrators, and signature verification on payment webhooks. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, to remember your search and display preferences, and to run the checkout overlay securely. We do not use advertising or cross-site marketing cookies. Any analytics we use is limited to aggregate product usage. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings, though the Service may not work correctly without essential cookies.
9. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes
We will update this notice as the Service changes and revise the date above. Material changes will be highlighted in the app.
